During the recording of these albums, there are often alternate versions and variations in how songs are performed and captured, these are sometimes documented as the journey unfolds.
The final release is a snap shot in time. It always feels like an impossible task to put all the feeling and expression into just one recording.
Broken Arrow was always a raw and powerful track to perform live and the final album version captured a very different side to the song but hopefully it still retains the raw emotion and fragility that the original demos had.
I came across this mix which has an urgency and a passionate quality.
The Kora and Tzouras that I played during these sessions are a little buried on the final album version so this mix exposes some of the wood, wire and strings. The vocal is also more immediate and in your face. G
